1. SUBADHRA DEVI RAI
NAMED FOR INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
Indian Origin Nurse Subhadhra Devi Rai who is a Singaporean
Nurse is named for International Achievement award 2015.
The award is presented by the Florence Nightingale International
Foundation (FNIF) of the International Council of Nurses.
2. ANA JARA SACKED OVER
ALLEGED DOMESTIC SPYING:
Prime Minister of Peru, Ana Jara is sacked after losing the
vote of confidence over alleged domestic spying.

3. SUNITA TOMAR DIES:
Sunita Tomar the face of India’s anti-tobacco campaign died at her
native village in Bhind District of Madhya Pradesh.
Sunita Tomar ran a Campaign, making videos to show thedevastating
effects of smokeless tobacco.
Sunita Tomar was a victim of Oral Cancer.
4. FAME-INDIA SCHEME
LAUNCHED TO BOOST ELECTRIC, HYBRID VEHICLE SALES:
Union Government of India has launched FAME- India scheme to boost
electric, hybrid vehicle sales.
Faster adoption and Manufacturing of hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) –India
scheme is aimed at sales of eco-friendly vehicles in the country.
5. GUIDELINES ISSUED FOR
ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONALISATION OF NIRBHAYA FUND:
Union Government of India has
issued Guidelines for utilization of the Nirbhaya Fund.
The Nirbhaya Fund with a corpus of 3000 crore rupees has been
approved by the Union Finance Ministry.
The Nirbhaya Fund was set up by the Union Government, under which
various departments can seek money from the Union Ministry of Women and
child development for Schemes to improve safety and security of women in
the country.
6. BRENDON MCCULLAM
CONFERRED WITH SIR RICHARD HADLEE MEDAL FOR 2014-15:
New Zealand Cricket Team Captain Brandon
McCullam is conferred with the Sir Richard Hadlee medal for
2014-15.
Sir Richard Hadlee medal is highest
cricketing honour of New Zealand.
Brendon McCullam won the Award
for his remarkable performance both as a player and the captain during the
2014-15 sessions.
7. UNION SPORTS MINISTRY
SIGNED MOU WITH IIFCL:
Union sports ministry signed MoU with
IIFCL to support TOP Scheme for Badminton.
Union Ministry of youth Affairs
and sports (MYAS) signed aMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
IndiaInfrastructure Finance Company limited (IIFCL) to support Target
Olympic podium scheme (TOP) for Badminton.
IIFCL has so far contributed 10
crore rupees and shall contribute 30 crore rupees under this MoU for corporate
social Responsibility (CSR).
