CURRENT AFFAIRS MARCH/25/2015
1. SUPREME
COURT UPHOLDS 'FREEDOM OF SPEECH'; SCRAPS 'VAGUELY- WORDED', 'OVERARCHING' SECTION 66A OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ACT.
The act - used to censor online content - has
led to the arrest and plight of many.
It has been used by the administration to gag
and punish even the genuine criticism and objections - contrary to the right to
Freedom of Speech - in the guise of it being 'Objectionable'.
The legislation is advised to come up with
more definite definition of what makes 'the content' really 'a threat to public
order'.
So that, ordinary people should be able to
clearly understand what conduct is prohibited and what is permitted online.
2. GERMANWINGS PLANE 4U 9525 - CARRYING 150 PEOPLE FROM BARCELONA TO DUESSELDORF - CRASHES IN FRENCH ALPS KILLING ALL
ABOARD.
Germanwings is a low-cost airline owned by
Germany's main carrier Lufthansa and so far had maintained an excellent safety
record.
